Choose To Believe - A Book Review

Choose To Believe Book Review

Don’t let the title dissuade you!

Choose To Believe
by Alan Tutt

If I saw this book in a bookstore, I probably wouldn’t even pick it up - assuming by the title that it is a book about religious faith. The colors tend to throw you off, too.

By the way, I am not the only one to think that. I asked several friends and family and they all came to the same conclusion.

I was wrong. Although religious beliefs are covered in the book, it’s actually about our everyday beliefs and how they have shaped our life as it is today.

More importantly, this book provides practical ways to change the beliefs that aren’t working for you.

Through a series of self-examination questions about the various types of beliefs, you are actually able to discover what your basic beliefs are. He then takes you through a process for getting to the core belief.

Of course, it won’t do you any good to just read the book without going through the exercises. I found some of it to be very eye-opening, although intuitively, I knew the answers - I just chose to avoid or ignore them.

After all of that, he gives you specific steps on how to improve various parts of your life, such as Increasing Prosperity and Improving Relationships. He also has case studies or real-life examples of people that were able to be helped by applying these methods.

There’s even a great section of web resources to explore at the end.

I love how he provides quite a large selection of tools and techniques for changing your beliefs so that you can live a more empowered life.

Ask yourself: Are your current beliefs working for you? Are you getting all you can out of life?

If not, this book can help you discover the right path for you.

The Great Formula GiveawayMark Joyner of Simpleology fame, is giving away a bestseller book he wrote 2 years ago - The Great Formula.

It’s all about marketing and mostly about marketing on the internet, although many of the principles are timeless and apply to any business.

And it’s not some 20 page fluff piece. Discounting the index and Table of Contents, it’s about 200 pages of pure marketing content.

The last section is a series of essays and stories written by some of the great marketing minds of our time - Perry Marshall, Joe Vitalie, Brad Callen, Tellman Knudsen and Yanik Silver to name a few.

If you haven’t had a chance to read this, go download it now - it’s totally free.

If you don’t already have a Simpleology account, you’ll be required to sign-up. That’s free too, and certainly worth looking into. If you’re not interested in any of the follow-up emails, just unsubscribe later.

How Would Love Respond? Book Review

How Would Love Respond? It isn’t often that I read a book that inspires me to be better and to do better. I have read so many self help books, that I’ve become a bit jaded, I’m afraid.

How Would Love Respond? by Kurek Ashley is a well written and refreshing breath of fresh air.

From the first page, it grips your attention as he begins to tell the story of the life-changing event in his life that inspired the book.

He’s a great storyteller, and as he continues to weave his history, I was beginning to wonder - “So where is all the self-help stuff?”

It’s there. If you’ve read a lot of self improvement books, you’ve probably heard most of what he covers. What makes this book unique is the style and personal “spin” he puts on a many of the concepts you may have heard before. Here is one section early on I found particularly amusing:

I Already Know All This Stuff

If you’re thinking, “Oh, I’ve already heard all of this before,” …the question I have for you is this: “Are you doing it?” (touché)

I didn’t agree completely with everything he said (by the way, it’s OKAY not to agree with everything an author says and still enjoy the book), but it all made good practical sense. And I loved how he was able to give examples of each principal from an event in his own life.

He follows that with solid, practical advice in a step-by-step fashion. I’ll be surprised if you don’t find SOMETHING in the book that makes you jump up and say, “I can do that!” and really spurs you to action.

Even the last chapter is a surprise ending and really resonated with me, having experienced something similar myself. ( Resist the urge to turn to the last chapter, will you?)

This is not a re-hash of the same old self help stuff. I’m sure you’ll find this truly inspirational and more importantly, I hope it spurs you to action!
